Basketball Recap: Weld Central's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Weld Central had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 48-41 win over the Liberty Common Eagles on Saturday.

Liberty Common's loss came despite strong showings from Emily Geyser and Akeeva Farrell. Geyser posted 17 points, while Farrell earned nine points. Farrell continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Weld Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Liberty Common, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Weld Central will face off against Fort Morgan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Weld Central is facing Fort Morgan at the right time seeing as Fort Morgan is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Liberty Common, they have already played their next contest, a 48-32 loss against Platte Valley on the 25th.
