Football Recap: Forsan Falls to Coahoma in First Game of Season

Forsan kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a blow against the Coahoma Bulldogs, falling 60-8. The Buffaloes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-0.

Coy Evans threw for 144 yards and one TD. Hayden Bowlin was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards. On the ground, Ashton Ellis rushed for 29 yards.

Boyd Cox was nothing short of spectacular for Coahoma: he threw for 188 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. What's more, Cox racked up 17 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Jayden Henderson was another key player, picking up 105 receiving yards and one TD.

Looking ahead, Forsan will welcome Post at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coahoma, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Roscoe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
