Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Maquoketa Valley

There's no place like home for Maquoketa Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 57-50 victory over the Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings on Tuesday. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Maquoketa Valley pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Edgewood-Colesburg, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Maquoketa Valley will head out on the road to square off against North Linn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Linn's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Edgewood-Colesburg and Starmont will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
