Volleyball Recap: Pacifica Comes Up Short

If Pacifica was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Hueneme last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pacifica Tritons fell just short of the Carpinteria Warriors by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tritons of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Pacifica took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-19, 23-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-11.

Pacifica's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Carpinteria, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pacifica will challenge Dos Pueblos at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carpinteria, they will square off against Channel Islands at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carpinteria will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each contest than the last.
