Baseball Recap: Lumberton Victorious

Lumberton posted their closest victory since February 27th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Mansfield Timberview Wolves 4-2.

Lumberton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Harwell, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Lumberton's win bumped their record up to 10-4-1. As for Mansfield Timberview, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Lumberton and Mansfield Timberview should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Lumberton will take on Tomball Kings at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday up 221 places (82 vs. 303). Lumberton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Mansfield Timberview's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Mansfield Timberview (ranked 244th) will meet Joshua (ranked 661st) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
