Franklin posted their closest victory since April 16, 2025 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Granite Bay Grizzlies 5-4. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Grizzlies, too.

Leilani Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kalani Phearson, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Estrada, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Franklin now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Granite Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Franklin will head out to take on River City at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Granite Bay, they will host Elk Grove at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
