Soccer Game Preview: Ceres vs. Central Valley

The Ceres Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Central Valley Hawks at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ceres' defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Beyer.

Leo Baez was the driving force of Ceres' attack as he scored both of Ceres' goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

Meanwhile, Central Valley hasn't lost a match since December 21, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Lathrop by a score of 2-0. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Spartans are ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ceres now has a winning record of 6-5-4. As for Central Valley, their record now sits at 9-5-6.

Ceres might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Central Valley when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Can Ceres avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
