Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. John Paul II). They never let the Lunenburg Blue Knights get on the board and left with a 34-0 victory on Sunday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by nine runs or more this season.

Tyler Ross was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, St. John Paul II got a massive performance out of Logan Our, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those five runs gave Our a new career-high. Xavien Suero was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple.

St. John Paul II was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .606. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win (which was St. John Paul II's fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Lunenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

St. John Paul II will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Monday.
