Basketball Recap: South Bend Career Academy Takes a Loss

South Bend Career Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Victory Christian Academy Lions, falling 58-30. While losing is never fun, the Trailblazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 427th, while the Lions are ranked 150th).

It was another big night for Gavin Whitaker, who went 8 of 11 en route to 29 points and three steals for Victory Christian Academy. The game was Whitaker's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Herrold, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

South Bend Career Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Victory Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Bend Career Academy will take on Westville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will face off against Clinton Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Victory Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
