Softball Recap: Hebron Hawks vs. Chesterton Trojans
Hebron lost to Chesterton back in April of 2017, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Hebron Hawks had just enough and edged the Chesterton Trojans out 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hebron.
Brooke Cunningham tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Hebron saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Michalak, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Hebron has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Chesterton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hebron will face off against Kouts at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Chesterton, they will head out on the road to challenge Lake Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
