Softball Recap: Whitewright Comes Up Short

Honey Grove hit Whitewright with a four-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Tigers have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Denley Blankenship was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joslyn Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Whitewright's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Honey Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season.
