Softball Recap: Desert Oasis Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Desert Oasis can now relate to. They lost 15-6 to the Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-8 back in March.

Ali Perkins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Vida Torres was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double.

Desert Oasis' loss dropped their record down to 11-9-1. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Desert Oasis will challenge Sierra Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Diamondbacks are facing the Mountain Lions at the right time seeing as the Mountain Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, they will square off against Legacy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Longhorns will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight.
