Central Crossing will challenge Steele at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Central Crossing has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Central Crossing and Upper Arlington had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Comets had just enough and edged out the Golden Bears 7-5. The game was the first time the Comets have beaten the Golden Bears on their field since April 28, 2018.
Hayliee Roberts made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Payton King was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Makayla Unrue was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Steele got themselves on the board against Avon Lake on Friday, but Avon Lake never followed suit. They came out on top against the Shoremen by a score of 11-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Considering the Comets have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Sienna Rebman, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Leah Sprague, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Steele hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive games.
Steele pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Central Crossing, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Central Crossing has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Steele struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
