It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Huffman ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They pulled ahead with an 84-83 photo finish over the Hale County Wildcats. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Huffman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amarius Robinson, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 26 points. Antonio Hill was another key player, going 8-for-15 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Omarr Lewis, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. Lewis has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 54% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Gage Mayfield, who shot 47% from the field en route to 21 points and six rebounds.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Huffman, bringing their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Hale County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Huffman has already played their next game, a 59-49 victory against Clay-Chalkville on the 25th. As for Hale County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-46 win against Hueytown on the 25th.
