Volleyball Recap: Maleah Evans Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Grand Oaks

After losing to Grand Oaks the last time they met, Walnut Grove decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Grizzlies 2-1 on Saturday.

Walnut Grove got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maleah Evans out in front who had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Evans has posted over her last six matchups. Lauren Aguilar was another key player, getting 13 digs and two assists.

They weren't the only good server: Walnut Grove was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Walnut Grove has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Grand Oaks, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.

Looking ahead, Walnut Grove will take on Rockwall-Heath at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grand Oaks, they will host Cleveland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
