Football Recap: Atholton Comes Up Short

Atholton played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 43-13 loss at the hands of the Oakland Mills Scorpions. The Raiders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Scorpions from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Atholton lost, don't look at Tyler Bell. Despite the final result, he rushed for 32 yards and one TD, and also threw for 134 yards and one touchdown.

Atholton's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Oakland Mills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Coming up, Atholton will be playing at home against Glenelg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Gladiators will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Oakland Mills, they will head out on the road to face off against Howard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Scorpions 9.4, the Lions 12.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
