Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Mineral Point's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Mineral Point won the last time they faced Waterloo and things went their way on Saturday too. The Pointers came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 7-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Mineral Point is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Waterloo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Mineral Point will welcome Darlington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Pointers are facing the Redbirds at the right time seeing as the Redbirds are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Waterloo, they will square off against Deerfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Demons' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
