Volleyball Recap: Regis Groff Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

Regis Groff barely beat Denver East the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Fusion blew past the Angels 3-0 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Fusion also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-21, 27-25.

Eamon McKim paced Regis Groff's offense, picking up 12 kills. McKim got some help from Jayden Flores and his 37 assists. Flores was also a major player on defense: he and Noah Youngveitch shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Regis Groff has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Denver East, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9.

Regis Groff has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Vista PEAK Prep on the 29th. As for Denver East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Legacy on the 28th.
