Softball Recap: Columbian Tornadoes vs. Norwalk Truckers

Columbian and Norwalk squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Columbian had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Truckers by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Truckers this season, with their most recent loss being a 9-8 defeat two weeks ago.

Olyvia Steinmetz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Columbian has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Norwalk, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-11.

Coming up, Columbian will host Calvert at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Norwalk does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
