Preview: Lake Worth Trojans vs. Forest Hill Falcons
The Lake Worth Trojans will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Forest Hill Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Lake Worth will be strutting in after a win while Forest Hill will be coming in after a loss.
Last Monday, Lake Worth didn't have too much trouble with Inlet Grove on the road as they won 36-21. The win was just what Lake Worth needed coming off of a 51-22 defeat in their prior matchup.
Lake Worth's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jocilynne Sweeney, who scored nine points along with four steals, and Christina Bell, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Sweeney is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Gracy Joseph was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Forest Hill unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 38-30 to Boynton Beach.
Lake Worth's win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. As for Forest Hill, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6.
Lake Worth took a serious blow against Forest Hill when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 55-19. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lake Worth was down 38-12.
