Basketball Recap: Rouse Takes a Loss

Rouse was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Westlake Chaparrals and fell 85-38. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-16.

When it comes to explaining why Rouse lost, don't look at D'Andre Gardner. Despite the final result, he shot 45% from the field on his way to 17 points and five boards.

Rouse's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Westlake, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Rouse will challenge East View at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westlake, they will square off against Alamo Heights at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chaparrals' defense better be ready for this one: the Mules have averaged an impressive 52.5 points per game this season.
