Soccer Game Preview: Eastern Wayne vs. North Pitt

The Eastern Wayne Warriors will challenge the North Pitt Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Eastern Wayne is headed into Wednesday's contest following a draw, the team's first since September 24. They and SouthWest Edgecombe finished up their matchup with a 4-4 draw on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Eastern Wayne's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, North Pitt waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Cougars 9-1. The result was nothing new for North Pitt, who have now won 14 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Eastern Wayne's draw gives them a new season record of 4-8-3. As for North Pitt, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2-2.

Eastern Wayne might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from North Pitt in their previous matchup back in September. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Warriors were down 4-1.
