Softball Recap: Blue Ridge Comes Up Short

Blue Ridge lost against Carbondale Area back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Raiders fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 7-6. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hailey Carpenetti was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Abby Piechocki, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Carbondale Area, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Blue Ridge will face off against rival Forest City at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Carbondale Area is set to challenge their familiar foe Elk Lake at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
