Basketball Recap: Eldorado Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Eldorado unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 61-44 to the Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons. The Firehawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Eldorado lost, don't look at TaVon Lozano. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Darren Costen, who posted five points and four steals.

Paris Brown was nothing short of spectacular for Doral Academy Red Rock: he went 5 of 7 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Daiton Williams, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 10 points.

Eldorado didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-33 loss against Southeast Career Tech on the 6th. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-25 defeat against Palo Verde on the 4th.
