Bloomer dropped down to 3-3 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Cadott Hornets by a score of 5-3. The Blackhawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

As for Cadott, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

For Cadott's part, Jake Weeks made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Weeks has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Weeks wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Drew Rykal, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Another was Brock Folczyk, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

While Bloomer had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
