Basketball Recap: Smoky Hill Takes a Loss

Smoky Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 77-21 defeat at the hands of the Arapahoe Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 81-17 back in January.

Gianna Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Arapahoe, to rack up 34 points. Smith's big performance that evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Jaya White, who en route to 14 points along with five assists and five steals.

Smoky Hill's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Arapahoe, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.

Smoky Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-18 defeat against Overland on the 22nd. As for Arapahoe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-40 loss against Eaglecrest on the 22nd.
