Hoggard strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 38-8 victory over the Ashley Screaming Eagle. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Screaming Eagle are ranked 193rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Matthew Boring continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 32 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 110 yards while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Hoggard's run defense was locked in: Ashley could only muster 1.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Josh Tingelstad for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Hoggard; they were averaging 3.8yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three games they've fallen to only 0 per game.

Hoggard didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tingelstad and Graham McNeely. Tingelstad has been hot, having also posted six or more total tackles the last five times he's played.

Hoggard's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Ashley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Hoggard will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Willow Spring at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Ashley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-13 win against Cary on the 7th.
