Basketball Game Preview: Sahuarita Mustangs vs. Amphitheater Panthers

The Sahuarita Mustangs will head out to square off against the Amphitheater Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Amphitheater took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sahuarita, who comes in off a win.

Sahuarita took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They claimed a resounding 75-46 win over Rio Rico. That looming 75-46 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Meanwhile, Amphitheater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Cholla and fell 86-32. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Chargers are ranked 60th).

With the victory, Sahuarita broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-13. As for Amphitheater, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Sahuarita was able to grind out a solid win over Amphitheater in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 77-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sahuarita since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
