Basketball Game Preview: Meridian Trojans vs. Lakewood Cougars

The Meridian Trojans will square off against the Lakewood Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Meridian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 62-56 to Lynden. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Lions are ranked seventh).

Lummi typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Lakewood proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 75-64 win over the Blackhawks.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Lakewood, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5.
