Basketball Game Preview: Lamphere Rams vs. St. Clair Saints

The Lamphere Rams are taking a road trip to take on the St. Clair Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Lamphere escaped with a win against Clintondale by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54.

Meanwhile, St. Clair hadn't done well against New Haven recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. St. Clair walked away with a 54-46 win over New Haven. Given the Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Rockets are ranked 350th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lamphere has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points over those games. As for St. Clair, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5.

Lamphere suffered a grim 59-34 defeat to St. Clair when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Lamphere avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
