Baseball Recap: Marion Has No Trouble Against Bennington

The third road contest was the charm for Marion, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Bennington Bulldogs on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Jameson Looper, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Hitch Soyez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Marion is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Bennington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Marion will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
