            Basketball Recap: Salem Wildcats vs. East Marion Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their 40th straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They took a  blow against the East Marion Eagles, falling  61-28. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  70-10  on January 10th.
 East Marion got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Brian Foxworth out in front who  went 5 for 8  en route to 11 points along with six  assists and four  steals. That's the most  assists  Foxworth has posted since back in January of 2024.  Donte Newson was another key player,  going 7 of 10  on his way to 15  points and three  steals.
Salem's record now sits at 0-20. As for East Marion, their win  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 8-9.
 Coincidentally,  the two teams will both be playing Resurrection Catholic the next time they take the court. East Marion will  host Resurrection Catholic at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday, while Salem will  host them  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
