Volleyball Recap: Montville Wolves vs. Lyman Memorial Bulldogs
After flying high against Bacon Academy last Wednesday, Montville came back down to earth. The Montville Wolves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lyman Memorial Bulldogs on Friday. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Montville took a 1-1 lead headed into the third set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-22, 12-25, 25-12, 25-22.
Even though they lost, Montville was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive matches.
Montville's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for Lyman Memorial, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Montville will welcome Plainfield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Montville is facing Plainfield at the right time seeing as Plainfield is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lyman Memorial, they will venture away from home to take on East Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lyman Memorial is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
