Recap: Cardinal Mooney Cardinals vs. Washington Tigers

On Friday, Cardinal Mooney came up short against Washington and fell 57-48. While losing is never fun, Cardinal Mooney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while Washington is ranked 162nd).

Washington was led to victory by La Nia Moore and Makiya Edwards. Moore dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Edwards dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Edwards has scored at least 25% of Washington's points. Another player making a difference was Telia Russell, who scored 11 points.

Cardinal Mooney's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Washington, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cardinal Mooney and Ursuline will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Washington, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Dover at 7:00 p.m. Dover and Washington are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
