Marissa/Coulterville came tearing into  Saturday's  matchup with five straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with  a   10-5  win over the Breese Central Cougars. This was payback for the Meteors, who suffered  a  6-4  loss the last time these two teams met.
 Analiese Howell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched four innings while giving up  three earned runs off   five  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news, Marissa/Coulterville let  Jenna Shelton and  Kennedy Trieb run wild. Shelton  went 2-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI, while  Trieb  went 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  triple. That  home run marked the first that  Shelton has  launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Payten Perry, who  went 1-for-2 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Marissa/Coulterville's victory was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 12-4. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Breese Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-19.
 Coincidentally, Marissa/Coulterville and Breese Central will both be playing Civic Memorial the next time they take the field. The Cougars will head out to face the Eagles at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday, while the Meteors will play them later in the day, at 2:00  p.m.
