Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Skates Past Crescent City with Ease

While St. Joseph Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 56-16 victory over the Crescent City Raiders. The Flashes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

St. Joseph Academy was led to victory by Isabelle Williams and Lola Scardelli. Williams dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten steals, while Scardelli went 8-for-14 on her way to 21 points along with six assists and five steals. The contest was Scardelli's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelijia Mask, who posted six points in addition to five boards and five steals.

St. Joseph Academy pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points over those games. As for Crescent City, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Academy will face off against Florida School for the Deaf & Blind at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Crescent City, they will head out to square off against St. John Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
