Basketball Game Preview: Whiting Warriors vs. Storm Lake St. Mary Panthers

The Whiting Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Storm Lake St. Mary Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 18 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Whiting and 31 for Storm Lake St. Mary dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, Whiting took a blow against Alta-Aurelia, falling 88-15.

Meanwhile, Storm Lake St. Mary scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They were beaten by Paton-Churdan 66-39.

Storm Lake St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Whiting, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything came up roses for Whiting against Storm Lake St. Mary in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-25 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whiting since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
