After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Dixon finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Casa Roble by a score of 4-2. Dixon's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Dakota Gaball spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Dixon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Gomez, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Dixon's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Casa Roble, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Dixon is set to challenge their familiar foe El Camino at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Casa Roble will square off against rival Woodland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Considering Casa Roble has lost three straight at home and Woodland four straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
