Melissa put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Walnut Grove Wildcats.

Eloisa Maes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024.

At the plate, Hutton(Lulu) Adrian was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Izzy Gonzales, who went 3-for-4 with one home run.

Melissa pushed their record up to 21-0 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Walnut Grove, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Melissa Cardinals challenge Greenville Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Melissa is facing Greenville at the right time seeing as Greenville is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Walnut Grove, they are taking a road trip to square off against Denison at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Walnut Grove's pitchers better be ready for this one: Denison has averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
