Ellicottville had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Franklinville Panthers as they made off with a 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Katie Lafferty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ande Northrup was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Fieck, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Ellicottville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Ellicottville pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Franklinville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
