Softball Recap: Coldwater Cavaliers vs. Parkway Panthers

With a playoff game on the line, Coldwater rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Parkway Panthers by a score of 13-8. Coldwater's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Madison Wendel made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). Wendel has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Wendel was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with a home run, four runs, and two RBI.

Coldwater will take on West Jefferson at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Jefferson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season. Parkway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
