Softball Recap: Plattsburgh Comes Up Short

Plattsburgh extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-7. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beekmantown Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 5-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

As for Beekmantown, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.5 runs this season.

For Beekmantown's part, Lillian Perry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Perry has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Meegan Burdo, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

Plattsburgh wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-6 win against Northern Adirondack on the 1st. As for Beekmantown, they have also already played their next contest, a 16-0 loss against Ticonderoga on the 1st.
