Basketball Recap: Walnut Comes Up Short

Walnut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Ingomar Falcons, falling 63-39. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in November of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Walnut lost, don't look at Logan Wilbanks. Despite the final result, he posted 25 points. That was a full 64.1% of the Wildcats' points, marking the eighth time in a row Wilbanks has scored more than a third of the team's points. Joshua Luster also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Walnut's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Ingomar, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Walnut will head out to take on Myrtle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ingomar, they will welcome West Union at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 55 points in their last ten games.
