Soccer Game Preview: North Central vs. Mid-Carolina

The North Central Knights will face off against the Mid-Carolina Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Central has given up an average of 4.1 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on April 3rd, they were much more limited against York Prep two weeks ago. They lost 5-0 to the Patriots. North Central haven't had much luck with York Prep recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Mid-Carolina kept a clean sheet against Fairfield Central on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Griffins with a sharp 13-0 win. Mid-Carolina might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by four goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Fairfield Central from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Daniella Vazquez-Diaz led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Mid-Carolina is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 49 goals over those six games. As for North Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
