Basketball Game Preview: Hurricane Tigers vs. Crimson Cliffs Mustangs

Hurricane hasn't had much luck against Crimson Cliffs recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hurricane Tigers will welcome the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Hurricane's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hurricane duked it out withPine View on Saturday. Hurricane fell to Pine View 66-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (57), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Hurricane might have lost, but man, Brigham Kemp was a machine: he went 6 for 14 on his way to 15 points in addition to six assists and six boards. The matchup was Kemp's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson McCauley, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Crimson Cliffs, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 48-41 win over Desert Hills on Wednesday. The 48-point effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Hurricane's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. As for Crimson Cliffs, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5.

Hurricane suffered a grim 79-58 defeat to Crimson Cliffs in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Hurricane, Sean Felts (who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
