Basketball Recap: Kaplan Comes Up Short

Kaplan lost against Abbeville back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Kaplan Pirates were outmatched by the Abbeville Wildcats and fell 59-30. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Wildcats are ranked 102nd).

Kaplan's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Abbeville, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

Kaplan has already played their next contest, a 31-30 win against Erath on the 31st. As for Abbeville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-48 victory against St. Martinville on the 31st.
