Volleyball Recap: United Takes a Loss + How To Watch

United was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Portage Mustangs. Surprisingly, this marked the Lions' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

United took Portage into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 24-26, 21-25, 15-9.

Peyton Thomas paced United's offense, picking up nine kills. Thomas got some help from Lilly Mcginnis and her 20 assists. Mcginnis also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Hailey Garshnick, each putting up five.

United's loss dropped their record down to 4-19-2. As for Portage, with the win, they broke their five-match losing streak and moved their record to 7-13.

As of now, neither United nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
