Basketball Recap: Loudoun Valley Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Loudoun Valley had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 victory over the Loudoun County Captains. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Captains are ranked 157th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loudoun Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Loudoun County, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Loudoun Valley will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Luray at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th. Loudoun County and St. Anne's-Belfield will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th. St. Anne's-Belfield will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Loudoun County surely won't give up without a fight.
