Basketball Recap: East River Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact East River can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 76-27 loss at the hands of the Edgewater Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 76-50 last Saturday.

Kaliyah Simmons went supernova for Edgewater, putting up 19 points. That's the most points Simmons has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was France Garilus, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

East River's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Edgewater, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

East River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edgewater, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-60 defeat against Horizon on the 18th.
