Basketball Recap: Thatcher Lamp's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tri County Northeast over Wakefield

Tri County Northeast lost against Wakefield back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack came up short against the Wakefield Trojans, falling 75-52. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tri County Northeast's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thatcher Lamp, who posted 12 points and four steals. Lamp has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Ben Jorgensen was another key player, putting up 17 points and six boards.

Wakefield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cael Johnson, who went 10 for 17 en route to 25 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Borg, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 22 points and seven boards.

Tri County Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Wakefield, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Tri County Northeast has already played their next contest (against Walthill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Wakefield has already played their next matchup, a 60-38 win against Clarkson/Leigh on the 25th.
